A short post-jfa ramble on Phoenix and the Feys:

This image right here it makes me MAD. Why aren't they hugging properly???? Maya just has her hand on Phoenix's right boob?? Where is she looking?? Phoenix looks like he couldn't decide between hover hands or a total bear hug so he went for a very awkward in between, which is just sad.

Maya just got rescued from a kidnapping, which Phoenix worked his ass off to save her from!! She hasn't had any sustenance for almost 3 days, she should be collapsing into his arms. And Pearl should be absolutely bawling while jumping for joy and Phoenix should scoop them both up into a giant hug because a fucking miracle just happened for Maya to make it out alive. After accidentally getting the bad ending once, in which Phoenix was absolutely devastated and never saw Maya again, I think to contrast they should've made this the most tearful hugful reunion of all time. Maya is pretty much Pearl's only family and basically Phoenix's only friend, make them give her a proper goddamn hug. Also Phoenix had to hold in his tears over the course of the investigation and trial he should absolutely be bawling his eyes out

Hmm so that's my Wright & Fey found family manifesto. They mean a lot to each other. Phoenix already went through a lot with Mia as his mentor, seeing her dead in the office and then defending Maya, not once but twice, and getting her acquittal both times. Maya lost her mother and older sister, she's only 18, and now Pearl's mother is in prison. She has to take care of her younger cousin AND put up with this bumbling jerk of a man who doesn't truly appreciate her presence until she gets kidnapped. They've all been through so much together, and have no family left but each other. The Shelly card with Maya's drawing of Nick on it made me want to cry 😭. I'm getting tired and running out of coherent thoughts but Wright & the Feys, I like them a normal amount
